触れる
【ふれる(1)】

①【軽く触る】touch(他)(自);（触ってみる）feel(他)
*赤ちゃんのほおにそっと触れる　touch a baby's cheek lightly
*だれかが私の肩に触れた　Somebody touched me on the shoulder.≒Somebody touched my shoulder.
*展示品に触れないでください　Please don't touch the exhibits.
*熱がないか彼女の額に触れてみた　I felt her forehead to see if she had a fever.
◆*泡は軽く触れただけで割れてしまった　The bubble burst at a slight touch. / 刃物は子供の手の触れない（→届かない）所に置かないとだめだよ　You must put cutting tools out of children's reach. / 私の車に手を触れるな　Keep your hands off my car. / 同じ本に伸ばした私たちの手が触れた　Our hands met as we reached for the same book.
②【関わる・言及する】（接触する）come into contact with ‥;（言及する）refer to ‥, mention(他)
*アイヌの文化に触れる機会があった　I had a chance to come into contact with the Ainu culture.
*柳先生は話の中で日本の祭りについて触れた　In her speech, Ms. Yanagi ｢referred to [mentioned] Japanese festivals.
◆*自然に触れる（→親しむ）機会をもつ　have an opportunity to commune with nature / これらの新聞は主要な問題に触れていない　These papers don't touch the central issue. / 彼女はその話題には触れたくないようだった　It seemed she didn't want to touch the subject. / このテーマには後でまた触れます　I will ｢touch on [come back to] this subject later. / 母は折に触れてそのとき起こったことを話してくれた　On occasion my mother told me about what happened then. / 彼は問題の核心に触れる発言をした　He made a statement that touched on the heart of the problem. / それは彼のいるところでは触れてはいけない話題だ　That is a taboo subject in his presence.
③【さしさわる】
*彼の発言は人々の怒りに触れた　His remark aroused people's anger.≒His remark made people angry.
*法に触れなければ何をしてもいいというものではない　You shouldn't think you can do anything as long as you aren't breaking the law.
④【その他】
*人の心の琴線に触れる　touch a person's heartstrings
*コンピュータに触れた（→コンピュータを使った）のはそのときが初めてでした　It was the first time that I used a computer.
*その石碑は通りからはずれた所にあるので人の目に触れることが少ない　The stone monument isn't often noticed, because it's away from the street.
*外気に触れる（→さらされる）と気分がよくなった　When I was exposed to the air, I felt better.
